Zakat is a mandatory act of worship and one of the five pillars of Islam. It purifies wealth, supports the poor, and strengthens the bonds of the Ummah. Every eligible Muslim must give Zakat once every lunar year.

  • Obligatory Charity – Zakat is a compulsory act of worship and one of the five pillars of Islam

  • Fixed Rate (2.5%) – 2.5% of eligible wealth must be given annually

  • Nisab Requirement – Zakat becomes obligatory when wealth reaches the prescribed Nisab threshold

  • Annual Obligation – It is paid once every lunar (Islamic) year.

  • Eligible Recipients – Zakat must be distributed to specific categories defined in the Qur’an.
